Kerala State School Arts Festival inaugural skit portrays Muslims as terrorists

Social media users on Tuesday expressed their anger at the way an inaugural skit in Kerala State School Art Festival ( Kerala School Kalolsavam) depicts Muslims, saying they are shocked to see the entire Muslim community being painted as “terrorists” by the organisers of the festival, Kerala left government.

On inaugural day, the school students staged a play depicting a Muslim man wearing a religious white cap as a terrorist caught by army personnel.

The festival, in which more than 10,000 students from across the 14 districts of the State will compete in 239 events on 24 stages, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at a function which was attended by a host of ministers, the Speaker of the Kerala Assembly, as well as MLAs.

The skit was before the speeches of the guests.

The curtain went up on the 61 st edition of the State School Arts Festival in Kozhikode on Tuesday.
