A day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s election campaign speech in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday called Shah an “embodiment of communalism.”
“The entire country knows that Amit Shah is communalism in the flesh. He is ready to do anything for nurturing communalism,” left leader said while kicking off his party’s election campaigning at his constituency of Dharmadam in Kannur.
Vijayan said that the saffron party leader Shah’s sound becomes rough whenever he utters the word ‘Muslim’.
“He is researching on new new ways of propagating communalism and he will go any extent to make it happen,” Vijayan said.
Referring to Shah’s allegation that a witness in the gold smuggling scandal had died under mysterious circumstances, Vijayan said the government is ready to probe into it if details are shared.
Responding to the Home Minister’s allegations and questions, CM said that Shah was jailed for the crimes of alleged “kidnapping and fake encounters”, a reference to the Sohrabuddin Sheikh case.
“But I want to tell you that I have never been lodged in jail for abduction, nor have I been accused of serious crimes like murder and abduction. You have faced such cases. They are not false cases unlike the ones you are referring to now. Don’t try to create a smokescreen about the death of a witness,” Vijayan said in his speech.
He went on to say: “The audacity of Amit Shah to come to Kerala and teach others political ethics is huge. When Amit Shah talks about suspicious deaths, he should remember that the name of person who was charged with murders of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, Kauser Bi and Tulsiram Prajapati is Amit Shah, not Pinarayi Vijayan. Please dont teach political ethics to me.”
“Who was charged for all these crimes? The name is Amit Shah,” he said, claiming the CBI court Judge B H Loya, who was hearing those cases, died mysteriously. “Post-mortem report was reportedly tampered with. The family of the judge is still awaiting justice. Will any BJP leader talk about this? We all know about the snooping case of 2013. Later the complainant woman herself dropped the case. Who was in jail for that? If you do not act as per the position you are holding, we will be forced to list out your misdoings,” Vijayan added.
Vijayan also shared an incident which happened during 2002 Gujarat Muslim genocide.
He said: “There was a journalist named Rajeev Shah, who remembers an encounter with Amit Shah during the Gujarat genocide. Shah used to start his sentences with ‘Why are you so worried about the riots?’. Rajeev asked him about need for Hindu-Muslim unity, Amit Shah asked back: ‘Where is your house? Is it on the hindu area or on the muslim area? If it is on the hindu area, then dont worry, your house is safe’.”
“Thats Amit Shah. If you could imagine a human shape for communalism, thats him. He hasn’t changed a bit till date. Dividing people on the grounds of religion is what Amit Shah and his communalism does. It is backed by the ideology of RSS,” left leader said.
