BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s assets surge by 3150% in 5 years

Tejasvi Surya, the incumbent Bengaluru South MP, known for his hate speeches against Muslims, disclosed total assets worth ₹4.10 crore, marking a staggering 3150% increase from the ₹13 lakh he declared in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He filed his nominations for the general elections on Thursday — the last day for filing nominations for the first phase of polls in the state.

Surya’s assets include investments of ₹1.99 crore in mutual funds and over ₹1.79 crore in shares.

Reacting to reports on the BJP candidate’s significant asset surge, Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale commented on X, stating, “An alleged increase of a whopping 3150% in assets of an MP in 5 years would be grounds for an investigation by agencies.”

He added, “But not if you’re a BJP MP when Central Agencies work as extended wings of the ruling party.”
