On Christmas eve on Friday, more than a dozen Hindutva men barged into a school in Pataudi town of Haryana’s Gurgaon district and disrupted prayers.

No arrest has been made in the case and police said they have not received any complaint though the video of hate crime against Christians went viral on social media.

The videos show some saffron men entering the school premises and raising Hindutva murder cries ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

“We do not disrespect Jesus…But I want to tell these children, the next generation, that do not get lured by any religion, or else India’s culture will get destroyed. You need to take resolution to protect it…Take that resolution and chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’,” an assaliant is seen telling a group of school children.

“It was scary as we had women and children around in the church. The nuisance is increasing with each passing day. It’s an infringement of our right to pray and religion,” a local pastor told PTI news agency.

Station House Officer, Pataudi Police Station who verified the authenticity of one of the videos of the hate crime after it went viral, told The website that no complaint has been filed. “Everything is peaceful,” he said.

There has been rising intolerance and attacks against Christians across the country, by right-wing Hindu groups.

In another incident, a mob of 40 people belong to a Hindutva group disrupted Christmas celebrations in a school in Pandavapura town of Karnataka’s Mandya district on Thursday, 23 December.

In a video widely shared on social media, Hindutva activists could be seen shouting at teachers of the Nirmala English High School and College, asking them to stop the Christmas festivities.

The Hindutva men who stormed inside the convent school campus, alleged that the children were being brainwashed and accused the sisters of converting the children to Christianity by celebrating Christmas.

The Hindutva group behind the latest hate crime is the Hindu Jagarana Vedike.

The incident in Gurgaon comes at a time Hindutva groups have been disrupting the offering of namaz by Muslims in public places in the region.
