Hundreds gather in Mumbai to show support for Palestine

A mass protest was held at Mumbai’s Islam Gymkhana on 21 October, in a show of solidarity with the people of Palestine in their resistance against the Israeli occupation.

The gathering was organized by the Milli Thareek Foundation, presided over by Abu Asim Azmi, the three-time MLA and Samajwadi Party Maharashtra president.

Hundreds, including women and children, carried placards with messages such as “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” and “To stand with Palestine is to stand with humanity,” among others.

Abu Asim Azmi stated, “During Hitler’s oppression of the Jews, the RSS and the members of Hindu Mahasabha were supportive, and now, as Israel oppresses Palestine, these same individuals are in support of Israel.”

At least 4,385 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza since Hamas’s October 7 attack inside Israel, which killed more than 1,400 people.
