Dozens of student leaders and rights activists were detained by Delhi Police on 27 October while protesting Israeli occupation’s violence against Palestinians in the national capital.

“We are being taken to Jafarpur police station. Almost 40 to 45 protesters are here,” Ansab Amir, Fraternity Movement national executive committee member, told Maktoob.

Over 200 protesters who were detained, were released hours after.

The protest was called by various student organizations, including the Students Islamic Organisation of India and the Fraternity Movement, along with civil rights groups.

Among the detainees are Ramees EK, the national president of the SIO, and Asim Khan, the national president of the Fraternity Movement.
