As a fresh controversy erupted in Kerala after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan kept the minority welfare portfolio with himself, a viral message has been doing rounds on social media claiming the state government has spent a hefty amount of over Rs 72 billion as salary to Madrasa teachers.
Claiming victory of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the Kerala polls, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, "Our victory today is the victory of the people. We believe in the people and they have trust in us. That's why we have won more seats than 2016. We can go into the details of the election at a later time."
The ruling CPI(M)-LDF and Opposition Congress-headed UDF are waiting with fingers crossed as the outcome of the fiercely fought April 6 Kerala Assembly polls is only hours away with counting to be held on Sunday.
