Gaza: 14 Health facilities destroyed in Israel bombing, morgues filled to capacity

Palestine’s Ministry of Health on Thursday said that 14 medical facilities have been destroyed in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza since Saturday. The air raids also killed 10 medical personnel working in the besieged enclave.

According to Middle East Eye, morgues in the besieged Gaza Strip have been filled to capacity, with people having to leave the bodies of their loved ones out in the streets.

Mortuary freezers have also stopped working because Israel cut off electricity on Monday. Visuals posted on social media show bodies kept in the streets outside the al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.

Health officials have warned that the siege on Gaza could result in a serious health crisis as people have now gone six days without clean water.

The Beit Hanoun Hospital has stopped operating completely, following ongoing airstrikes on the besieged enclave, which has targeted civilian infrastructure.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has called on international health organisations to help establish field hospitals in Gaza.

Many ambulances have also been targeted in the attacks, making it difficult for medical personnel to reach victims.
