Israeli forces have given doctors, patients and displaced people at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza one hour to evacuate the compound, a medical source told the Doha-based channel Al Jazeera on Saturday. A doctor inside Al-Shifa Hospital told the network the Israeli army has given everyone at al-Shifa Hospital, just one hour to evacuate through al-Rashid Street, which is what we call the “sea street”.
Dozens have died since the largest hospital complex was besieged by Israel’s ground troops before they stormed the facility to find “Hamas command centre” and hostages.
More than 20 patients have died at Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital in the last two days as Israeli forces continue to raid the facility, according to a hospital official and the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza.
The doctor also said it was impossible to evacuate all these people in one hour, especially since they did not have any ambulances to transfer the patients and premature babies to the south.
