The ruling alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) in Bihar is over, Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar Tuesday announced in a meeting with party leaders after several days of intense political speculation in the state.
The Chief Minister has fixed an appointment to see the Governor today at 4 pm.
He’s set to meet the Governor this evening with Tejashwi Yadav, sources said.
Amid the political rift in Bihar, Uniion Minister Kaushal Kishore said that the BJP wants the state government to continue “working strongly” under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“BJP never initiated anything that may stir up a controversy or create a situation of uncertainty among them. JD(U) will make a decision but BJP definitely wants Nitish Kumar to continue as CM,” he said.
