PU Students Organizations Counter VC’s Modi Campaign; Says ‘No More Modi’

Students organizations in Pondicherry University organized a protest sloganed “No more Modi” condemning vice-chancellor Prof.Gurmeet Singh his support to “Modi Once more” campaign.

The students had alleged that VC posed for a photograph with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers who were wearing T-shirts with the message “Modi once more.”. They said ABVP students took photos with the VC to launch a campaign on social media seeking support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The photo shared by ABVP declared the inclination of VC and other senior Faculties towards right wing and Modi, alleges Student organisations. VC has been constantly critisiced for ‘saffronization’ of the university.

Student leaders Anannya (Ambedkar Students Association), Niyas Ali (Muslim Students Federation), Hiba Samad (Students Islamic Organization of India ), Ashok (Scholar) and Reshmi (Spectra) spoke during the protest.
