Lilly Singh wears ‘I Stand With Farmers’ mask to 63rd Grammy Awards

Comedian-Youtuber Lilly Singh used the global stage of the 63rd Grammy Awards to highlight and support the ongoing farmers protest against Narendra Modi government’s farm laws in India.

Singh arrived on the Grammys red carpet wearing a black mask that had “I Stand With Farmers” written on it.

“I know red carpet/award show pictures always get the most coverage, so here you go media. Feel free to run with it,” Lilly Singh said in the caption of her post that also included hashtags such as “#IstandWithFarmers” and “#GRAMMYs”.

The Canadian celebrity whose parents were born in Punjab, has over nine million followers on Instagram, more than 14 million subscribers on YouTube and 5.5 million followers on Twitter.

In December, in a viral TikTok clip, she urged her massive global fan base to “Stop!” and get informed about the “largest human protest in history” in India.

Earlier this year, renowned global personalities including international singer Rihanna, climate activist Greta Thunberg and lawmakers from several countries had also tweeted in support of the farmers’ agitation in India.
