Two Palestinian journalists killed by Israel, raising journalist toll to 89

Two Palestinian journalists, Ahmed Abu Abseh and Hanan Ayad, were killed in Israeli bombardments on the Gaza Strip. This brings the total number of journalists killed to 89 since the beginning of the genocidal war on Gaza.

At least 18,412 Palestinians have been killed and 50,100 injured in the Israeli onslaught since then, according to Gaza’s health authorities.

The Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has proved one of the deadliest violence for journalists in recent memory.

Additionally, several family members of journalists — including those of Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief— have been killed in the bombardment, and the premises of more than 50 media outlets in Gaza have been hit. Journalists covering the war have also faced assaults, threats, and censorship, as well as contended with communications blackouts in Gaza.
